Nafy Llanas’ work explores themes such as nostalgia (past) and fiction (future), from these two polarities she finds to make the present last even though it passes in a liquid and fleeting way. Kitsch retro ceramic figures, popular cartoons, images taken from the virtual network, punk girls from Instagram, spontaneous drawings in notebooks, hybrid pseudo-human figures are elements present in her artwork. In an attempt to freeze time, stretching memories to prolong them and sometimes recycle them, just like a personal diary, made up with images, texts and sometimes sounds. In her work she uses different media, such as painting, photography, animated gifs, intervention of objects and video.
