This 7-week course includes some history of the origins & development of traditional western astrology, introduces some of the philosophies & cosmologies behind this divination system, and covers key components of astrological symbolism -- building foundations for advanced study. 

Traditional "Western" Astrology is a system of astral divination with roots in Ancient Mesopotamia (Iraq), North Africa, Persia (Iran), and Greece. This system looks to the night sky & the seasons to read patterns of meaning corresponding to our lives on Earth. 

Instruction will include lecture, Q&A, discussion, and chart examples. Optional homework & assigned readings will be provided. 

This course is designed to be accessible to all levels, but is geared towards students interested in serious astrological study. 

Prior memorization of the glyphs for each sign & planet is strongly encouraged. Participants may also benefit from prior familiarity with the base symbolism of the twelve zodiacal signs, the twelve houses, the seven traditional planets, the five traditional aspects, and the traditional domicile rulers of each sign.

Venus -- the planetary god of love, art, & beauty -- stations retrograde October 3rd. For 6 weeks, Venus will retrace the path it tread through Libra and Scorpio throughout September. And Venus's themes of relationships, affections, and affinities may reverse & retreat. This retreat (or recollection) can look differently for each of us - and will vary experientially from retrograde to retrograde, depending on our individual charts.

Join us on the Autumn Equinox for an intimate two-hour workshop exploring the symbolic language of flowers through tarot, art history, mythology, and botanical lore.

Across cultures and throughout history, flowers have served as powerful symbols of transformation, devotion, secrecy, desire, death, and rebirth. Together, we’ll explore how these botanical meanings weave through traditional and contemporary tarot imagery, classical art, and folklore.

To close the evening, each participant will receive an intuitive pull from a custom Flower Oracle created for the Equinox, alongside a curated seasonal bouquet to take home as the season shifts into fall.
