The Flower Hunter

The Flower Hunter is a rocaille object that has been articulated to represent a contemporary take on a Jean Mondon painting, Le Galand Chasseur, from the 18th century France during the dominance of Rococo art + architecture. By studying Rococo, and the narrative and abstracted linework of this painting, three figural components of the rocaille came into form. To help coalesce these figural components to a unified object, investigating levels of ambiguity within the painting, and articulating the components with materiality was conducted. The final result is a contemporary rocaille that is produced through different computer methodologies.
